What is an object? When we perceive an object is it any more than an image that hits the back of our retina?

 

Re-exhibited as The Unseen Space as part of the Art, Philosophy and Contemporary Practice Exhibition in 2016.

In this artwork, the two versions of the same object have been juxtaposed. They mirror each other, but not quite. They reflect each other and yet they are different. They are interconnected; they share a horizon. They share the same moment but not quite the same place. They are both connected and separated, being slightly off-set from each other. The physical space articulating the digital, the actual versus the virtual. As you move around an object, each view is slightly different from the one before. And what of the space in between?
